Job Description

Role Summary

As a Cost Manager for Advanced Manufacturing and High‑Tech Facilities, you will oversee the full spectrum of cost management activities across highly specialised construction projects. These facilities may include precision‑manufacturing plants, clean industrial environments, assembly areas, R&D spaces, and controlled technical production floors.

You will support pre‑ and post‑contract cost planning, tender evaluations, procurement coordination, commercial reporting, and change management. This role requires strong stakeholder coordination and structured financial oversight to ensure projects are delivered on budget, on schedule, and to high technical standards.

Project Support & Coordination

  • Prepare and maintain cost estimates, budgets, and detailed cost plans for high‑tech manufacturing, assembly lines, and technical spaces.
  • Support tendering and procurement, including preparation of tender documentation, bid evaluations, commercial analysis, and contract compilation.
  • Track project cost performance, monitor variations, and support change control procedures with timely documentation.
  • Coordinate closely with project managers, designers, engineers, and contractors to ensure alignment between scope, quality expectations, and cost outcomes.
  • Understand basic requirements of controlled manufacturing environments, process utilities, and equipment‑heavy fit‑outs (without needing deep technical engineering knowledge).

Governance & Reporting

  • Prepare monthly cost reports, forecasts, and cashflow updates for internal and client review.
  • Support value engineering studies to determine cost‑efficient options for materials, systems, and construction methodologies.
  • Maintain organised cost records, tender files, variation logs, and audit‑ready documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with internal governance processes and contribute to ongoing improvements in templates, standards, and tracking tools.
  • Participate in project meetings and provide clear, data‑driven insights to support decision‑making.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Cost Management, Construction, Engineering, or related field.
  • 5+ years’ experience in cost management, ideally in industrial, advanced manufacturing, high‑tech, or engineering‑driven construction projects.
  • Strong grasp of pre‑contract and post‑contract cost management processes.
  • Comfortable working in environments with complex scopes, technical equipment installations, or phased construction.
  • Strong communication, organisation, and stakeholder‑management skills.
  • Proficiency in CostX or similar estimating tools; strong Excel skills.
  • Native proficiency in local language and business‑level proficiency in English.
