Job Description
Project Management
- Oversee electrical aspects of healthcare or hospital facility construction projects from inception to completion, including planning, design, construction, and closeout.
- Manage healthcare-specific project tasks, such as submittals, RFIs, change orders, and punch lists, ensuring compliance with safety standards and operational requirements.
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure healthcare facility systems meet regulatory standards, infection control protocols, and patient safety guidelines.
- Lead project meetings focused on coordination, document action items, and ensure timely resolution of complex technical issues.
- Administer closeout processes, ensuring the proper commissioning and turnover of all systems in compliance with healthcare facility standards.
Stakeholder Collaboration
- Collaborate with design teams, contractors, and healthcare stakeholders, including administrators, facility managers, and clinical staff, to align project objectives with operational needs.
- Participate in commissioning activities to ensure systems are operationally ready and meet the unique demands of healthcare facilities.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients in the healthcare sector to understand their specific needs and challenges.
Leadership and Teamwork
- Lead project teams with a focus on integration, ensuring effective collaboration across disciplines.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to team members, leveraging your expertise in healthcare facility construction and systems.
- Inspire and motivate teams by articulating clear project goals and maintaining alignment with healthcare facility priorities.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, or Civil Engineering; Architecture; Construction Management; or a related field.
- Certification: PMP certification and P.Eng designation (or equivalent).
- Experience: At least 10 years of construction project management experience, with significant expertise in electrical systems for healthcare or hospital facilities.
- Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of healthcare construction standards, including infection control protocols, patient safety requirements, and commissioning practices for electrical systems.
- Software Proficiency: MS Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project or P6); familiarity with web-based project data platforms.
- Regional Expertise: Proven experience in managing healthcare facility projects, ideally within the Ottawa market.
- Security Clearance: Ability to obtain secret clearance with government of Canada
