Job Description

Responsibilities: 

  • Provide support to the project team for all planning functions ensuring that issues within the programme are highlighted and understood.
  • Give appropriate planning advice and direction to project team members & all relevant Stakeholders and produce programme assurance reports on our Client commissions.
  • Produce progress reports showing variance against the baselines.
  • Coordinate between Clients and their Partners’, consultants’ and contractors’ programmes of works and compliance with the Project Programme. reporting areas of ‘non-compliance’ for resolution.
  • As appropriate and required, provide planning support to the bidding team to do all the activities necessary to submit the bidding documentations in time.
  • Assists in developing the program’s delivery and procurement strategy and its associated phasing timelines and update it regularly
  • Produces Plans, Programmes and Projects, controls information, sets the performance baselines
  • Monitors project performance against performance baselines
  • Understands and works within contractual frameworks
  • Can work across multiple projects simultaneously
  • Assist in the preparation and management of overview and strategic programmes, including design, procurement and construction schedules together with supporting information required schedules
  • Develops and maintains management and executive level reports
  • Develop an overall development project progress control system, schedule management plans and procedures for all phases. Monitors, refines, and improves the reporting and controls tools as required.
  • Review the schedules and related documents from the contractor including monthly reports and analyse the content to ensure compliance with project objectives.
  • Review overall project status with the Project Team and recommend corrective action and mitigation plans where necessary
  • Assist in risk management activities including risk identification, assessment, response planning, and continuous monitoring and reporting.
  • Provides guidance and specialized assistance to project for the resolution of difficult and complex planning problems.
  • Manages a team of Planning Engineer(s) 
  • Assesses the impact(s) of design and construction changes and schedule slippages
  • Participates in the development of key milestones dates and schedule requirements in the RFPs for the design consultant and construction contractors
  • Participates in the review and response to bidders’ queries during tender periods

 

Qualifications

 

  • BSc Degree in the relevant field is preferred;
  • Regional experience with professional consultancy is necessary;
  • Advanced Knowledge and Proficiency with multiple discipline specific software applications such as Primavera (P6) and/or other planning and resourcing software;
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills;
  • Professional working knowledge of project management and Planning software and tools. 
  • Demonstrable knowledge of Design and Construction Processes
  • Strong knowledge in the analysis of Extension of Time claims
  • Commercial understanding
  • Project management skills
