Job Description
A Planner is required to oversee the planning function on a major MoD construction project based in Derby. Due to the sensitive nature of this project and the need to deploy quickly, applying applicants must have valid UK SC clearance. The Planner will:
- Work with stakeholders to ensure all aspects of the project are defined.
- Help to provide clarity on key milestones to define what, when and how activities will be organised to ensure the outcomes can be achieved.
- Lead on all aspects of project planning, including the development, updating and monitoring of plans and schedules.
- Identify tasks, activities, interdependencies and outputs.
- Work with the project team to track and monitor progress against the plan throughout the lifecycle.
- Develop clear vision and standards and champion the use of best practice project planning standards, tools and processes.
- Apply advanced knowledge in the discipline of planning for the analysis and successful resolution of risks and issues and identification of opportunities.
- Provide guidance and specialist advice to the Project Manager on selection of planning approach, tools, processes and proportionality.
- Identify and lead the introduction of industry standard best practices.
Qualifications
- Must hold valid UK SC clearance to work on nuclear/defence construction projects.
- Must have demonstrable experience leading robust project controls teams on major construction projects within highly regulated industries.
- An proficient level of understanding of Primavera P6 is essential.
- Must be able to utilise techniques such as earned value management/analysis, critical path analysis, cost loading and risk management.
- A degree in related engineering/project management field is desirable.
