Job Description

The Assistant Project Manager will take responsibility for effectively delivering a range of tasks to high quality standard and assist on a wide range of projects of all sizes and dimensions.

Handles commissions of varying sizes, depending upon the complexity of the project. Can work as part of a larger team or as the key day-to-day contact point with the client

Help to establish the overall success criteria for the project, including time, cost, technical and performance parameter, project governance, project planning, processes and systems to be utilized throughout project;

  • Monitor and control the project by:
    • Applying performance management techniques;
    • Managing the change control process;
    • Advise upon project finances;
  • Manage the flow of project information between the team and the client, through regular meetings and written communications;
  • Take a leading role in interfacing with the client and other consultants, at all project stages.
  • Read and understand documents defining project, including but not limited to: agreements, work letters, project charters, surveys, budgets, schedules, and drawings
  • Prepare project status reports, process purchase orders, update tracking reports, and maintain files for due diligence and financials
  • Proficiency in managing multiple timelines and projects simultaneously, setting priorities, and working with little or no direct supervision
  • Able to build and maintain productive and trusting relationships with team members and others with diverse backgrounds and personalities, objectively address and resolve issues, and promote a positive image of the company and its investment strategies and results.
  • Manage project correspondence (Meetings, Reports, Memos, Emails, etc.) to facilitate, maintain and track.
  • Prepare reports and filter data from field;

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Architecture, Civil Engineering,   Electromechanic Engineering or Electrical Engineering.
  • Minimum of 3 years working experience in a Document Control role. Ideally your experience will be in Industrial Projects. 
  • General understanding of the procurement process and contract types for appointing a General Contractor, Engineer and Architect.
  • Experience managing and inputting information into a shared database.
  • Experience establishing purchase orders, budget variations, and payments to vendors.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office in particular a strong understanding of PowerPoint and Excel.
  • Ability to problem solve and manage client expectations.
  • Polished individual who demonstrates excellent presentation, verbal, written, and communication skills.
  • Passion and enthusiasm for working in a collaborative high paced environment.
  • Commercial awareness – ability to recognize business opportunities based on Turner & Townsends wider scopes of service delivery.
  • Information technology capability - Adequately proficient on the Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Word and Excel), SharePoint and Oracle experience is desirable. Training will be provided for client software packages.
  • Ability to develop and cultivate business relationships with existing and prospective clients
  • Tech savvy and interested in technology, softwares, programming. 
  • Experienced in the following software packages: (Microsoft Project, Excel, Word and PowerPoint).
  • English level: Minimum advanced
  • Spanish level: Minimum advanced
