Job Description

As part of a project team, you will advise our renowned clients on the planning and successful implementation of major Data Centres construction projects. 

 

The Design Manager will act as the key, day to day client interface, ensuring that client objectives are met from a design management perspective. 

 

  • Monitoring preparation of specifications and commenting on same. 

  • Chairing and preparation of Design and Design Coordination Meetings including preparation and distribution of minutes and Design Action Register whilst ensuring Design Team respond to meet programme requirements. 

  • The design team with respect to Safety in Design and timely preparation of Design Risk Assessments. 

  • Working with the designers and supervision consultant to agree the standards required with respect to mock-ups. 

  • Working with the Client and designers with respect to selection of materials, which may involve undertaking overseas visits. 

  • The performance of the supervision consultant and “design guardians” with respect to quality and timeliness of responding to contractor submittals. 

  • Mitigating, monitoring and reporting on design risks throughout project including status of Authority Approvals. 

 

Qualifications

  • You have successfully completed your technical studies in architecture, civil engineering, industrial engineering or a similar field. 

  • As a Design Manager, you will have min. 5 years of relevant work experience in the planning or project management of complex industrial building construction projects, preferably with experience in the planning/construction of data centres. 

  • You have excellent communication and presentation skills in English, German language skills are a plus and enjoy working in multicultural teams. 

  • You will be assertive and empathetic, determined and team-oriented, and will work meticulously and accurately.
