Job Description

Reporting to the Ireland Managing Director, the Operations Director will be responsible for leading and managing the day-to-day operational aspects of the Real Estate business in Ireland to support business as usual activity and enable the continued growth, support, and development of the business.

The Operations Director will play a key role in the business achieving it's 3-year growth objectives, including increasing revenue year-on-year, with a particular focus on the data centre and life science sectors, and significantly growing the team and expanding and enhancing capability and development opportunities within it.

Operational management responsibilities to include:

  • Team Organisation – management of teams / functions to include recruitment interviews, resource planning / deployment, staff competency development, organising mentoring and support.
  • Financial management – budgeting, monthly fee / invoicing forecasting, accruals, staff utilisation, costs, WIP, job profitability, monthly invoicing and forecast against plan, review of monthly management accounts.
  • Business Management – lead assurance, quality reviews, director audits, processes and systems to be utilised to support the successful and compliant delivery of our projects, including commission execution planning and risk management etc.
  • Working closely with the MD on business planning, strategy for the Ireland business, and on the management and support of various internal committees to include wellness, social, EDI etc.
  • Work with the MD and the HR team on the development and implementation of Ireland HR policies.
  • Manage our key account programmes – oversee and support Key Client Leads plan and deliver key account activities, including knowledge shares, relationship management, new opportunity generation.

Marketing and business development responsibilities to include:

  • Pipeline planning, bid coordination, bid writing and overseeing Associate Directors and Directors develop bids for framework call offs and new work.
  • Bid management – driving best practice and also leading on our larger strategic bids for Infrastructure.
  • Key Account Management (KAM) – leading and driving the delivery of our brand plan through each of our account plans.
  • Identifying and acting upon cross-selling opportunities through Key Client Leads within the Real Estate and Infrastructure teams.
  • Establish service development initiatives with Service Leads (i.e. project management, cost management, digital, contract services, and sector leads) to include methodologies, systems, tools, and competencies.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Good leadership skills, including delegation, time management, and prioritisation of tasks.
  • Ability to develop long-term relationships based on performance and trust.
  • Ability to deliver business goals and financial targets.
  • Ability to manage and inspire large, diverse, and dispersed teams to achieve team members and business goals.
  • Professional development to include recognised industry qualifications, e.g. Association of Project Managers, Managing Successful Programmes.
  • Requirement to join Industry Associations such as Engineers Ireland / SCSI / RICS.
