Job Description

  • Supporting a major project in Ottawa
  • Leading a team of like-minded individuals to drive the best value and opportunities for the client whether that be through design or construction.
  • Working with our reporting and scheduling teams to develop clear and concise monthly reports that showcase all aspects of the project.
  • Driving packages of work through from inception of package through to completion including working with our estimating team, seeing it through procurement and then monitoring the works on site.
  • Interfacing with the client and other consultants, at all project stages.
  • Providing educated guidance and insight on all aspects of the project to drive improvement and efficiencies.
  • Assisting in research related to construction market conditions throughout Canada, including analysis of official published data.
  • Quality Control – Ensuring compliance with quality standards and participation in ISO audits.
  • Assisting on feasibility studies and costings as well as reviewing and writing procurement reports.
  • Assessing and validating design as well as post contract cost changes, where applicable referring major changes to line manager.
  • Inputting into value engineering and life cycle costing.
  • Assisting the Commission Manager ensuring commissions are managed to the right quality standards and are completed efficiently and on time.
  • Assisting the Commission Manager to ensure service delivery on commissions is in line with the conditions of appointment.
  • Assisting our Associate Directors / Directors in developing new business opportunities with existing and new Turner & Townsend clients.
  • Knowledge management – Ensuring that key information and learning generated is inputted into internal databases and shared.

Qualifications

  • Eligible to work in Canada with Reliability Clearance with the Government of Canada
  • +10 years of relevant experience including working on at least two major projects or programs
  • A recognized post-secondary education certificate, diploma or degreeUniversity Degree in Quantity Surveying or related field
  • Membership of Relevant Professional Organizations such as the Canadian Institute of Quantity Surveyors (CIQS) and/or; The Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS); and/or Association for the Advancement of Cost Engineering (AACE)
  • Advanced Knowledge of and experience using CostX is an asset but not essential
