Job Description

 

Turner & Townsend is seeking a Senior Project Controls Consultant under leadership of the Project Controls Manager, to organize cost and schedule components of projects for internal and external parties.

The role requires a smart, motivated professional to optimize documentation for management support, contracts management, and finance management related to mission critical construction and renovation projects our high-profile aviation client.

The Project Controls Consultant's duties will include reviewing costs, tracking progress, reporting results, process improvement and benchmarking.

*On site 2 days per week

 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Provide support to the Project Controls Lead and Program Team throughout the program lifecycle.
  • Drive integration with client tools & systems for benchmarking, analysis & process control.
  • Training and Support - Develop and manage training content and material for General Contractors and internal client personnel to utilize the client’s Work Breakdown Structure.
  • Develop and maintain positive working relationship with site project controls and stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with key client contacts to achieve continuous improvement of processes, guidelines and templates.
  • Develop initial project budget for pre-construction activities.
  • Support the funding for design and civil utilities construction phases of the project.
  • QA/QC project specific cost estimates.
  • Track and maintain budgets and analyse and report weekly/monthly trends.
  • Creation and maintenance of dashboards for recording changes, trends and project performance.
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly project controls report and other progress reports for the client.
  • Create, maintain and follow a project schedule detailing when stakeholder meetings will be needed, when reviews will be necessary and an overall project plan.
  • Create a training plan that can be used to rollout the new processes/final document (web-based, video, in person, etc.
  • Maintain the standards, processes, procedures, and deliverables for all reporting activities for assigned delivery team.
  • Perform benchmarking, including data collection at key stages of the project.
  • Capture As-built rates for purposes of developing benchmarking database.
  • Respond to ad hoc requests for data and tools.
  • Document control.

Qualifications

 

  • 7+ years of experience with scheduling and cost.
  • Experience working in project controls, project management or cost management in the construction industry.
  • Degree in engineering, architecture or construction preferred.
  • Oil & Gas, Infrastructure, Real Estate, Aviation preferred.
  • PMIS integration experience in addition to Primavera P6
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and problem resolution skills with demonstrated.
  • Ability to communicate with people at all levels of the organization.
  • Action-oriented and excellent organization skills with demonstrated ability to multitask.
  • Tech proficiency and advanced application of Microsoft Office and Google Suite Applications.
  • Excellent report writing and presentation skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including documentation.
  • The tenacity and drive to inject value and create solutions.
  • Develops good working relationships with project team.
  • Good organization skills, ability to multi-task, and be a team player.
