Job Description

Turner & Townsend is currently recruiting for a Senior Cost Manager/Quantity Surveyor within our Real Estate team to support on a range of exciting projects in our Canberra office.

The individual must be self-motivated and Client facing with the ability to manage multiple projects and clients. This will involve establishing early budgets, early estimating, and cost planning, tendering and procurement and post contract reporting .

The role will also include management of other Assistant Cost Managers and Cost Managers within the team.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

 

  • Estimating and cost planning to include producing and presenting the final cost plan to the Client
  • Inputting into value engineering
  • Manage project profitability
  • Externalise within the local property market to raise company profile
  • Assist with bid writing and negotiation of our contracts
  • Work independently and take responsibility for deliverables.
  • Being responsible for project deliverables and ensuring governance is followed.
  • Producing monthly post contract cost reports and presenting them to the client
  • Interfacing with the client and other consultants, at all project stages
  • Managing Assistant Cost Managers and Cost Managers within the Occupier team.

Qualifications

  • A proven track record of delivering high quality cost management/quantity surveying services across the full project lifecycle
  • Ability to successfully manage and prioritise more than one project at a time.
  • Utilising digital software for delivery of cost management services
  • Recognised degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management or similar. Preferable RICS or AIQS accredited.

  • Any construction experience within the Defence sector will be highly regarded
