Job Description
The Senior Project Manager is responsible for accomplishing the strategic plan and capital project objectives and leading the project delivery teams to achieves these. The Project Manager will be responsible for the success of the project from design until handover to the facilities, on behalf of our client.
The key responsibilities include creating clear and attainable project objectives, building the scope requirements, and managing established constrains including cost, time, scope, and quality, while placing safety first.
The Senior Project manager (PM) will be reporting to the T&T commission manager for this role.
Core Responsibilities
- Review the projects need, goals, and requirements with the Client. Analyze the project and prepare an outline project approach, setting forth recommendation, which will include management strategies, real estate requirements, determining the budget and schedule constraints, operational needs, and assignment of responsibility. And document this information in the project plan.
- Carry out a project kickoff meeting, with the core team to communicate the project plan. By reviewing the Project Approach with architect, engineer, and consultants, including program, design standards, budget, schedule, procedures, guidelines, individual roles and responsibilities.
- Assist the architect/engineering team (A&E) to coordinates and facilitates the user group requirements to define the project scope
- Assist the A&E team with design reviews at key design milestones and support value engineering of the design were needed
- Assist the A&E team with any permitting requirements of other regulatory requirements as need.
- Review the design drawings and specifications prior to distribution with bid packages. The review will be a check for conformance with the project and will focus on completeness, clarity and coordination.
- Support the client with procurement of the construction scope of work and other venders with pre-qualification, bid solicitation, bid analysis and recommendations
- Schedule & facilitate Field Kick-Off meeting with the project team to review the project plan with the project team to confirm understanding of all systems and procedures including flow charts delineating standard procedures for handling changes to the contract documents, monthly billings, drawing submissions, field changes, punch listing, substitutions, etc.
- Manage Cost / Change Control, including change order review, negotiation, & recommendations, delay analysis
- Lead the weekly Owner Architectural & Contractor (OAC) meeting to drive progress on the project
- Reporting – communication is key, provide regular update on the project progress to the client including reporting on cost and schedule tracking
- Contract administration, coordinate with the project team to drive best practice in project documentation with regards to submittals, RFI’s, change orders, invoices and payments, lien releases, etc.
- Manage safety by reviewing and monitoring the contractor’s compliance with HSSE training and competency requirements.
- Asset the client with close out of the projects and handover to operations including warranties, as-builts, O&M manuals, punch list, substantial completion etc.
- Documentation and communication of lessons learned throughout the project
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements
The candidate should have 10-years of relevant project management experience high education
The candidate should at a minimum bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Construction Engineering, Architecture, Civil Engineering, or a related construction degree; or equivalent years of transferable field experience
The candidate should have the following technical skills
- A thorough knowledge of Project Management methods and best practices.
- A general understanding of forecasting, budgeting, planning, design, schedule and scope management
- Proven track record in delivering projects within the budget and schedule constraints safety Have the technical skills to read, understand, and communicate contract requirements including construction drawings and specifications and interpret construction methods
- Be able to understand and follow site HSSE Policies
- Technology competent in using the following Software: MS Outlook, MS Word, MS Excel, MS Project, MS PowerPoint
- OSHA 10 certification
The candidate should have the following soft skills
- Strong interpersonal skills, comfortable working with a diverse range of personalities across clients and partner organizations
- Ability to engage and manage multiple stakeholders
- Able to deliver projects within a technically complex environment whilst ensuring high levels of safety and environmental responsibility
- Strong analytical and numerical skills and flexibility to rapidly understand complex problems and shape these into workable solutions for delivery
- Ability to develop and deliver high quality output against stated business and technical project objectives and meet tight deadlines safely
- High level of drive, commitment to achieving solutions, and ability to work under pressure and motivate others with the same objective
- Strong planning and organizing skills including the ability to manage several work streams simultaneously
- Ability to develop concise and effective written presentations and participate effectively in meetings with senior client representatives
- Be able to effectively work collaboratively with all parties to solve project challenges associated with the management of scope, costs and schedules, while representing the client best interest
Valued but not required
The ideal candidate has:
- A professional qualification i.e., PMP or similar certification
- Technical competent in using P6 schedule tools and electronic Project Management tools
- safety -OSHA 30, STSC certification or above
