Job Description

Turner & Townsend are currently seeking a driven, focused and qualified individual to support the construction and commissioning of our client’s vertical farming facility.  The position is a primarily field-based role that is dedicated to delivering the project through day to day onsite construction. 

Successful applicants will have experience with project management on manufacturing and industrial projects with a strong MEP component.

Specifics activities include:

·         Managing the client team, including architects, engineers and supply chain to deliver a compliant project

·         Managing the flow of project information between the project team through regular meetings and written communications

·         Managing the interface between all suppliers through monthly trackers and weekly reviews

·         Verifying that effective project governance, processes and systems are utilized

·         Ensuring application of best practice on all projects

·         Production of formal project status reports and other reports as required

·         Analysing, tracking and effectively managing critical milestone activities to avoid schedule slip.

·         Monitoring the progress of multiple construction trades simultaneously to ensure that the approved design standards are being applied correctly

·         Providing technical support to owners, architects, general contractors and regional stakeholders

·         Responding to RFIs from the field

·         Providing expertise for cost control, value engineering, and constructability guidance where required

Qualifications

·         8+ years’ experience of manufacturing / industrial PM experience

·         College graduate with bachelor’s degree in one of the following fields: business management, project management, construction management, architecture or engineering.

·         Strong MEP background and understanding of industrial equipment installation and commissioning

·         Positive, flexible attitude

·         Excellent written and verbal communication skills with an ability to utilize all the common Microsoft tools to make persuasive cases to support strategic objectives.

·         Proficient in the application of following tools or systems: Microsoft Office Suite, MS365, Bluebeam, Microsoft Project

·         Ability to read and understand architectural, MEP, and structural building drawings

·         Understanding of construction costs related to industry standards

·         Strong analytical skills with the ability to develop and implement strategic plans

·         The ability to build and maintain effective relationships

·         The ability to make sound and effective judgment on issues associated with delivering projects

·         Detail oriented with strong focus on producing results, meeting timescales, and delivering high quality work

·         Self-motivated with the ability to work at client sites independent from other team members
