The successful candidate will have to provide effective and efficient HR services to business units and regional offices in East and West Africa by coordinating relevant HR activities related to workforce planning, performance management, HR Organisational Development projects, employee engagement, wellness and other HR activities in an effort to ensure that the business units and regional offices are well advised on HR related matters. We currently recruiting a HR Assistant to work in East and West Africa

 

Job Description

Candidate will deliver the following duties;
•Continuously provide support, guidance and co-ordination to ensure accurate and professional HR Support
•2 – 4 years generalist HR experience, including exposure to performance reviews and employee engagement 
•Experience on HR daily operations and on and off boarding. 
•Assist with day to day operations of the HR functions and duties
•Provide clerical and administrative support to Business Unit Leads
•Compile and update employee records 
•Process documentation and prepare reports relating to personnel activities (staffing, recruitment, training, grievances, performance evaluations etc)
•Deal with employee requests regarding human resources issues, rules, and regulations
•Assist in payroll preparation by providing relevant data (absences, bonus, leaves, etc)
•Properly handle complaints and grievance procedures
•Conduct initial orientation to newly hired employees
•Assist our recruiters to source candidates and update our database

 

Qualifications

Candidate will have the following qualifications;

Qualifications
• Proven experience as an HR Assistant, Staff Assistant or relevant human resources/administrative position
• Fast computer typing skills (MS Office, in particular)
• Hands-on experience with an HRIS or HRMS
• Familiarity with ATS software and resume databases
• Basic knowledge of labor laws for East Africa and West Africa
• Excellent organizational skills
• Strong communications skills
• Degree in Human Resources or related field Contributing to design and implementing HR Strategy

Knowledge:
• Knowledge/experience of payroll and HR systems, e.g., VIP, iTrent
• Strong computer literacy (MS Office)
• Sound knowledge of HR Practices
• Knowledge of labour East Africa and West Africa labour legislation
• Conflict/Relationship Management skills
