Job Description

Turner & Townsend Contract Services team is highly experienced in providing authoritative advice and professional expertise in the fields of Intelligent Procurement, Project Advisory and Dispute Resolution to a market leading client base. We are dedicated to making the difference to all our clients engaged in the delivery of major capital projects and programmes in Ireland and globally.

Due to increased workload and securing of new clients, Turner & Townsend has a new opportunity for a Senior Consultant providing Intelligent Procurement and Contract Services in Ireland. 

Intelligent Procurement for major capital projects and programmes includes:-

  • Developing procurement and contracting strategies to drive value and mitigate risk;
  • Developing supply chain strategies to drive value and performance;
  • Engaging the supply chain to validate procurement and contracting strategies and obtain mark buy-in;
  • Effectively managing the procurement process including developing tender and contract documentation, evaluating tenders; and
  • Developing contracts to optimise opportunities and minimise risk.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to: 

  • Work with an outstanding team of specialist consultants;
  • Advise major clients and develop procurement strategies and plans for major construction projects and programmes;
  • Advise major clients on embedding sustainability ambitions in the pre-contract and procurement stages of major construction projects and programmes; and
  • Challenge themselves in a market-leading global business.

The Opportunity 

The duties of this role include: 

  • Providing specialist procurement advice to public and private sector clients; 
  • Managing end-to-end procurement services on major construction and construction-services-related projects and programmes; 
  • Developing and implementing procurement strategies and plans that support achievement of sustainability objectives in construction projects;
  • Engaging with the market and supply chain on a national and international level
  • Providing expertise to embed sustainability within procurement competitions; 
  • Drafting tender documents (PQQ, ITT/ITN) and reviewing contract documents prepared by others;
  • Coordinating inputs from other professional team members, including technical, legal and commercial/financial; and
  • Supporting on bid preparation, proposal documentation and the work winning capability of the Contract Services division.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 10 years’ experience with 3-5 years procurement experience for the procurement of capital works, goods and services; and
  • Preferably possess degree related to engineering, quantity surveying, law or procurement and/or be MCIPS.
