Job Description

  • Serve as client's agent, consultant, advisor, and authorized representative through all phases of design and construction-related aspects of data center projects, as specified by client.
  • Work with client’s stakeholder groups and third party consultants, design consultants, construction management firms, and construction contractors to administer the design on behalf of client.
  • Coordinate, clarify, and track design packages with client and their third-party contractors.
  • Manage and coordinate design efforts for bundle domestic and international projects.
  • Manage escalation of design issues to resolution.
  • Support contract negotiation with client’s third party contractors, typically in concert with client’s project manager (“PM”) and legal counsel.

Scope of work:  

Coordinate and produce the following Deliverables for each data center design/construction project:

coordinate design contracts and amendments for:

  • Site development (including pad, utilities, and deep foundations scope)
  • Data center (“DC”) design coordination with the concerned stakeholders
  • Construction administration (“CA") coordination with the concerned stakeholders
  • Peer review of DC design - design coordination with the concerned stakeholders
  • Design project plan for each data center design/construction project prior to design kickoff. Contractor will ensure the project plan includes the following:
  • Internal kickoff deck, Baseline scope, Baseline design schedule, Baseline budget, Risk log, Team roster, Project folders, Meeting and communication plan, A change management plan, Lessons learned from previous building designs
  • Coordinate with relevant stakeholders to manage and update the following through design completion:
  • Design schedule, Design budget, Design risk log

Ensure the following design trackers and updates are delivered at each design deliverable milestone. Contractor will deliver final versions of these documents upon design completion:

  • Complete and maintain design review checklist
  • Complete and maintain design comments tracker
  • Complete and maintain design decision tracker
  • Conduct constructability review (“CR”) and value engineering report at each CR milestone
  • Provide updates to the site change control log with design information
  • Provide updates to the site risk log with design information Liaise with internal and external stakeholders, as necessary.
  • Establish and manage communication channels with stakeholders and business partners regarding project delivery direction and changes.
  • Ownership of the relationships with both external and internal stakeholders.
  • Update senior management on project status and schedules regularly.
  • Interact with suppliers and vendors as and when needed responsible for critical components

Complete the following reports and ensure delivery of documents

During data center design: Monthly design report

During CA / Services During Construction (“SDC”)

Qualifications

  • Engineering qualification in electrical or mechanical
  • Minimum 12 - 15 years industry experience in design and senior positions across all project phases.
  • Construction experience within the data center and Consultancy experience is helpful.
  • Overseas / regional experience will be preferred and also from a client’s organization is a key criteria
