Job Description

Turner & Townsend is expanding the Cost Management team based in Stockholm.

If you are interested in working with the world’s leading tech and logistics corporations, delivering their world leading, hi-tech construction projects. Then we currently want to talk to you as a Senior Cost Manager, with relevant, transferable sector experience. Turner & Townsend are leaders in professional services to the technology, logistics and industrial sectors globally and you will be working with our key client in this space.

Job Objectives

  • Pre and post-contract duties including preparation of cost estimates, procurement and tendering, contract administration, variation, final account, etc.
  • Interfacing with the client and other consultants, presenting updates to the client at all project stages.
  • Completing feasibility studies and writing procurement reports.
  • Estimating and cost planning to include producing and presenting the final cost plan.
  • Tendering and procurement activity, including managing the pre-qualification stage, producing the tender list, preliminaries, tender analysis, tender report and compiling the contractual documents.
  • Taking responsibility for timely and accurate cost checks and valuations.
  • Producing monthly post contract cost reports and presenting them to the client.
  • Participate effectively with post contract cost variances and the change control processes.
  • Perform cost risk analysis and provide input into value engineering; negotiate and approve final accounts.
  • Maintain central feedback and learning on cost estimating from prospects and projects and contribute to updating of best practices in estimating.

Skills Required

  • Technical experience and knowledge of hi-tech, data centre, life sciences, logistics, automation or related construction of similar asset type projects.
  • Collaborative approach, be client facing, able to develop strong relationships, confidently present to clients and stakeholders.
  • Be assertive and detail orientated, to identify potential issues early and raise them in the appropriate forum for resolution.
  • Good knowledge of all methods of construction and procurement.
  • Demonstrable track record in the delivery of relevant projects.
  • Experienced with or managing team that uses multiple estimating tools and applications.
  • Strong experience with spreadsheets and databases.
  • Good organization skills with the ability to multi-task.
  • Demonstrated strong listening and communication skills.
  • Proven cost and/or commercial management experience, ideally within a consultancy environment.

Qualifications

  • A proven track record of delivering high quality cost management / quantity surveying services across the full project lifecycle
  • Ideally professionally qualified (RICS or similar)
  • Degree or HNC level qualification in relevant subject
  • Ability to successfully manage and prioritise more than one project at a time.
  • Fluent English language skills. Swedish or Finish language skills desirable.
