Job Description

The new Associate Director will provide project controls services and compliance oversight, taking responsibility for program level reporting and metrics from a globally divested delivery team in the commercial/corporate occupier asset class. We are looking for a strong communicator who can efficiently digest complex data sets and succinctly report on them both in written and oral form to senior client stakeholders.

The right candidate will be a good listener and be able to take, understand and rationalize performance feedback from internal and external stakeholder partners to create an environment of continuous improvement.

  • Work with a small, agile, Center of Excellence team to ensure data quality and reporting standards are adhered to across regional and global delivery organizations
  • Assist in the leadership of program management team
  • Work collaboratively with staff of all levels on team to complete current and forecast project deliverables
  • Participate in meetings with VP of Business Unit, Directors and staff and prepare and deliver presentations.
  • Bet familiar with and be able to clearly communicate advice on set Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and train, coach on same.
  • Deliver fantastic client service; operate in a partnership manner and be agile and creative in problem solving
  • Proficient in Excel and Power BI; the ability to create, evaluate and troubleshoot dashboards and complex KPI reporting
  • Be vocal and lead client discussion; contribute to meetings and discourse by actively engaging and leading workshops
  • Provide weekly updates regarding the status of projects, initiatives, and staffing, and propose solutions and obtain approval and agreement from management team.
  • Direct process improvement to improve internal and client facing systems and processes , establishing new cost and project control tools, reporting and risk documents, and cost management templates and products.
  • Engage in financial management – Utilize the tools provided to track ongoing margin levels and monthly fee/resource forecasts for each commission and financial reports.
  • Be a critical thinker and be able to articulate positions and arguments
  • Be an active proponent and reference point of our values and behaviours
  • Develop priority plans including risk mitigation through internal tools, make performance measurements via Key performance indicator (KPI) and appraisal documents, management controls and critical success factors based on company goals.
  • Advise on contracting and procurement strategy to the benefit of clients over a variety of industries and procurement routes and program level capital planning and reporting
  • Facilitate value engineering, capital phase planning, risk and/or life cycle costing exercises for all projects/programs
  • Have a good working knowledge of project delivery and cost management metrics

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of relevant technical experience and demonstrable pedigree working on major capital programs in the real estate sector.
  • Professional experience undertaking project control roles for the development and/or delivery of commercial construction projects.
  • Experience working within project controls, planning & scheduling, cost management.
  • Experience of risk management, change control information management and reporting within complex projects, and integration of same.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Relevant consulting experience is preferred. 
  • Office based role
  • Strong understanding of all aspects of the construction project life cycle.
  • Ability to develop strong relationships with, internal team members, clients and cross-functional team members.
