The Brisbane team is looking for an experienced Business Analyst to help the team deliver our major infrastructure projects.  

Job Description

  • Perform detailed business requirements analysis, and facilitate and document processes and procedures
  • Identify and collaboratively develop business intelligence requirements from the program functions and key stakeholders
  • Elicit, gather, document and analyse project cost data including change and trend productivity in the context of major programs
  • Support to ongoing systems improvement activities
  • Input to the conceptualisation, design, development and implementation of advanced predictive analytics and correlations
  • Business intelligence asset design, development, quality and assurance (including adherence to relevant standards and methods)
  • Satisfy any ad-hoc reporting requirements, and conceptualise and develop BI functionality to enable user ad-hoc reporting wherever possible
  • Provide first line support for any business intelligence asset issues, and actively seek out issues with data integrity (‘sense check’)

Qualifications

  • Full working rights and be currently in Australia. 
  • Degree in quantity surveying, or economics and finance
  • The ability to quickly grasp complex technical concepts and make them easily understandable in text and pictures
  • Responding and adapting to challenges and thinking laterally for solutions
  • Strong verbal communication and excellent written skills in English
  • Relevant experience of generating report materials using a variety of relevant tools, including project controls information
  • Experience in data visualisation and analysis techniques commensurate with the responsibilities of the role
  • High level of analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent communications skills, including experience of using communication techniques in complex technical environments, and conveying concepts in a manner appropriate to audience
  • Strong interpersonal and stakeholder management skills
  • The ability to lead, work in a team, on their own initiative, and effectively manage upwards to maintain (and refocus where necessary) team priorities
  • The ability to take responsibility for problems within their own capability and responsibility, recognise where problems are interconnected with others, and collaboratively support developing and implementing a solution
  • Ambition for quality and excellence in their own work and the team

Systems & Tools

  • Excellent skills in Microsoft Office 365 suite, including MS Visio (advantageous)
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Power BI professional, reporting server and cloud service
