Job Description

  • Undertakes periodic site visits with the PWA staff and as directed by the Technical Lead and the Engineer to monitor the Project Companies’ compliance with the PPPAs;
  • Attends joint inspections with the Independent Certifier or the Project Company as directed by the CMU Lead or the Engineer;
  • Monitors and facilitates Contracting Authorities’ and the PWA’s compliance with their obligations relating to the PPPAs;
  • Coordinates technical activities with Project Companies, Contracting Authorities and other stakeholders;
  • Establishes close working relations with the Project Companies;
  • Reviews technical submittals received from Project Companies;
  • Provides support to the CMU team on construction matters;
  • Elevates issues to the Technical Lead, CMU Lead and the Engineer;
  • Ensures that projects’ issues and documents are transferred to the Operations Team;
  • Performs other tasks as directed by the Engineer and the Facilities Management Specialist.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience post graduation with experience in construction stage audits of building projects or programmes;
  • Experience on schools, primary healthcare projects and / or car parking projects;
  • Desirable to have experience of working with government agencies and clients, generally at a senior level;
  • In-depth knowledge and demonstrable track record in monitoring PPP projects or large output driven design and build developmental projects with governments or major developers; and
  • A “rounded profile”, with experience of working in multidisciplinary technical teams.           

Additional Information

Mandatory Requirements

 

  • University degree from a recognised university in an appropriate field such as Engineering or Architecture;
  • Experience of working on PPP projects or large output driven design and build developmental projects; and
  • Excellent communication skills in English, written and spoken. 
  • Desirable requirements
  • Experience of working in Qatar and / or the Gulf region.
