Job Description

We are currently seeking a senior cost manager to work across several projects supporting our program management commission leads.

The position will be based in a client office in Franklin, TN and may entail some occasional travel.

Cost Management

  • Understanding of feasibility and up-front design estimating practices.
  • Background in benchmarking and construction costs relating to retail and automotive and construction in general.
  • Can read and understand drawings related to typical construction standards (structural, architectural and MEP).
  • Assess key cost information within Turner & Townsend and the market place to develop and establish project cost benchmarking
  • Establish key information requirements with design teams to support development of estimates
  • Develop cost estimates in line with formal design stages
  • Provide financial targets for design development and identify and target areas for value improvement
  • Provide input to the PEP and support the development of focus areas and detailed plans
  • Establish cost controls and monitor throughout project life cycle
  • Utilize client systems and extract relevant data
  • Evaluate and analyze bids and provide recommendation for decision making
  • Provide cost forecasts and cashflow analysis
  • Maintain and manage cost reports and provide regular updates on financial position
  • Input to the risk register and evaluation / costing of identified risks
  • Provide financial advice to support change management process
  • Evaluate, and recommend approval and/or rejection of, cost of proposed change orders
  • Evaluation of contractor claims and provide advice to project leadership team
  • Evaluation of contractor works completed on site and validate against schedule of works
  • Develop and provide core information and input for gateway reviews as required.
  • Reconcile and close out construction contract accounts

Supply Chain management

  • Manage key suppliers, including dealing with contracts and exhibits, and working with purchasing organizations in a client facing environment.
  • Manage prototyping of new products including reviewing drawings, layouts, renderings and understanding cost & commercial drivers.
  • Chair meetings and take ownership of processes linked to daily tasks involving multiple supplier and client stakeholders.

Qualifications

Education/Experience:

  • A bachelor’s degree from an accredited University in Construction related field is desirable
  • 5+ years working experience Cost/Project Management.
  • Professional accreditation such as RCIS, CIQS, AACE advantageous
  • Program experience preferred
  • Automotive experience preferred
  • Highly proficient in Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Bluebeam or similar take-off software.
  • Line management experience preferred

Skills/Qualifications:

  • Ability to coordinate, manage, and organize multiple sources of performance data and translate into visually simple graphics
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and an ability to develop client relationships.
  • Solid verbal and written communication skills, including documentation
  • Strategic thinker able to plan and execute according to stakeholder’s direction.
  • Detail oriented with strong focus on producing results, meeting timescales and quality work.
  • Strong problem solving skills
  • The tenacity and drive to inject value and create solutions
  • Desire to learn T&T cost estimating skills / methodologies / tools
