Turner & Townsend is currently recruiting for a Dutch speaking Senior Cost Manager within our Real Estate team to support our commercial fit out and refurbishment sector. The position is to work within the Netherlands cost management team and with blue chip clients such as Microsoft, Shell and Netflix.

The successful candidate must be self-motivated and Client facing with the ability to manage multiple projects and clients. This will involve establishing early budgets, early estimating, and cost planning, managing a design team to the budget, tendering and procurement (single and two stage) and post contract reporting to the Client. The role may also include management of Junior Consultants and/ or Cost Managers within the Occupier team.

Responsibilities

Commission Management, to include:

• Assisting on feasibility studies and writing procurement reports
• Estimating and cost planning to include producing and presenting the final cost plan
• Tendering (single and two stage) and procuring, including managing the pre-qualification stage
• Dealing effectively with post contract cost variances and the change control processes
• Taking personal responsibility for making cost checks and carrying out valuations on larger projects and in all cases ensuring that timely and accurate cost checking and valuation takes place
• Producing monthly post contract cost reports and presenting them to the client
• Inputting into value engineering
• Negotiating and agreeing final accounts
• Interfacing with the client and other consultants, at all project stages
• Where appropriate, leading a cost management team, ensuring that they deliver on all of the above accountabilities

Experience and Skills:

• A proven track record of delivering high quality cost management/quantity surveying services ideally across the full project lifecycle in the Benelux market
• You have at least Bachelor’s degree in Build Environment, Construction Management or other relevant discipline.
• Ability to successfully manage and prioritise more than one project at a time.
• Experience in delivering fit out projects for corporate clients
• Utilising digital software for delivery of cost management services
• Excellent command of written and spoken Dutch and English
• Highly motivated and driven with a passion for delivering to your clients and have the ability to work independently.
