You are an highly experienced Project Manager with a minimum of 10 years post-graduate experience as a Project Manager and are able to lead a small team and continue to grow the Ottawa PM business.

Job Description

Due to ongoing delivery success and ambitious growth plans, Turner & Townsend is looking for a suitably qualified and experienced Associate Director to join our Real Estate/Property team in Ottawa.

This is a key strategic role for the business, combining business generation and project delivery with a focus on the local Ottawa/Ontario market including government and public buildings, education, healthcare and investors/ developers.

You will be self-motivated, driven by the goal of establishing Turner & Townsend as the #1 consultancy for real estate construction projects in Ottawa 

You will be fee earning, acting as Project Director for key projects and/or programmes, with particular involvement during initiation / set-up, establishing the project execution plans and master programmes / schedules.

However, as Associate Director you will also increasingly be responsible for developing and delivering on a business plan to achieve business growth targets. You will work closely with the Canada Board to align sector ambition with business operation

Job Objectives– Project Management Associate Director:

  • Team leadership of section of Project Management personnel across Ottawa
  • Business Development – Taking responsibility for developing new business opportunities with existing and new Turner & Townsend clients. Identifying and acting upon cross selling opportunities
  • Staff management – Line management for Senior Consultants, Consultants and Graduate Consultants, including performance reviews
  • Recruitment – Inclusion in selection and recruitment process, including interviews, input into resource management
  • Financial Management – Using the tools provided keep track of ongoing margin levels and fee / resource forecasts for each commission
  • Knowledge management – Ensuring that key information and learning generated from each commission is input into the Turner & Townsend internal database

Qualifications

  •  A minimum of 10 years of experience as a Project Manager supervising construction projects of increasing complexity required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Architecture, or a similar field
  • Real property construction experience is preferred.
  • Experience in CSA (civil, structural, architectural) and MEP (mechanical, electrical, plumbing)
  • Proficient in MS Outlook, Word, Excel, Powerpoint, & Project or P6.
  • Good with numbers, technology, and web-based data platforms.
  • Bilingual with French & English is an asset
  • Experience with Business Development desired
