Job Description

The Project/Construction Manager is responsible for ensuring he Hospital maintenance, construction and renovation projects, as well as equipment installations are preformed properly within a scope of work to include budgets, schedules and all applicable guidelines of state and local regulations.

Key objectives include:

  • Oversee and document all aspects of specific projects and the work performed by outside contractors and performs inspections to ensure compliance with Hospital and various Commission requirements.
  • Review detailed specifications and plans of work including estimated cost (labor, material and equipment) and time schedule.
  • Evaluate bid proposals staying within budgetary guidelines.
  • Assess the environment for safety hazards including infection control issues which would cause harm to patients, visitors or staff.
  • Conduct and document contractor safety training sessions to ensure all contractor and subcontractor personnel are knowledgeable and familiar with the healthcare environment requirements.
  • Participate in various Commission reviews in correcting any deficiencies to insure hospital remains compliant.
  • Proficient in Facility One (CMMS) entering work orders and understanding the PM process.
  • Coordinate and administer the preventive maintenance program to ensure proper function and compliance.
  •  Maintain and improve job knowledge and skills through continuing education and professional development.
  • Keep Director of Facilities informed if any unusual concerns, situations or conditions relative to projects.
  • Complete other duties as requested by the Director of Facilities.

 

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience within Project Management
  • Healthcare and Institutional project experience is preferred
  • Consultant experience preferred
  • Computer experience in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to reach and interpret construction drawings, schematics, shop drawings and blueprints.
  • Familiar with all regulatory codes: National Life Safety, Code 101, International Building Code, Mechanical Systems Codes
