Job Description

Under the supervision of the pharmacist, assists with the functioning of the unit-dose distribution system, assists with the preparation of intravenous admixtures and delivery of medication to patient units. Responsible for assisting with ordering, receiving and delivery of medication and supplies. Responsible for inspection of assigned medication storage areas throughout the hospital. 

Qualifications

EDUCATION:

  • High School graduate or the equivalent or currently enrolled in a program which awards such degree or certificate.
  • A pharmacy technician currently licensed by the Board of Pharmacy who is PTCB (or other Board-approved entity) certified. 
  • Must be at least 18 years old.

EXPERIENCE:

  • Previous experience in a hospital pharmacy is desired.

SKILLS/ABILITIES:

  • Must have good organizational skills. 
  • Able to identify scope of task and perform it in a timely and efficient manner. 
  • Must be able to communicate effectively and work as a team member. 
  • Must have good telephone etiquette.
