Job Description

Responsible for handling all inbound and outbound Patient Access to/from the HHMA Patient Access Center.  The majority of Patient Access will involve scheduling patient appointments for the individual HHMA physician offices, a key function in supporting outstanding healthcare access for all patients and physicians. The Coordinator will obtain and maintain all pertinent information and documentation to ensure timely and thorough access to appointments and will register patients by collecting demographic and insurance information.   The Patient Access Center Coordinator will function as part of a multidisciplinary team that supports HHMA’s patients, providers and staff. The Coordinator must strive for first Patient Access resolution whenever possible and will field a wide variety of requests and questions.

Qualifications

EDUCATION:

  • Level of knowledge equivalent to Associates degree in related field.  A bachelor’s degree is preferred.

EXPERIENCE:

  • Demonstrated knowledge of pertinent technology solutions.
  • One to three years of patient access or customer service experience preferred.

SKILLS/ABILITIES:

  • Good interpersonal, organizational communication skills; both verbal and written.
  • Ability to prioritize and respond effectively to multiple and /or changing job expectations.
