Job Description

Under the direction of the System Manager, the Patient Access Associate is responsible to register patients for all hospital services using the Hospital Information System.  Excellent customer service skills, knowledge of third party billing requirements and effective communication skills ensures this process is completed in a timely manner.  Equally important is the ability to manage multiple tasks and work independently with minimal processing errors.

Qualifications

EDUCATION:

Level of knowledge equivalent to Associates degree in related field.

EXPERIENCE:

Knowledge of insurance plan requirements, medical terminology and PC knowledge.

SKILLS/ABILITIES:

Exceptional customer service skills are critical. Good interpersonal, organizational communication skills; both verbal and written. Ability to prioritize and respond effectively to multiple and /or changing job expectations.  Must be able to read and write and understand English.
