Company Description

We are a fast-growing decentralised identity management start-up looking for a talented Chief Financial Officer (CFO) who would help us develop the firm’s financial strategy and set robust foundations for long-term growth.

Our CFO must be well-versed in all aspects of financial management ranging from accounting and reporting to complex financial modelling, budgeting and risk management. The ideal candidate is a strong leader with the ability to build the finance, planning and accounting functions. Being a good steward to capital, CFO contributes to strategy formulation and drives our capital-raising efforts.

Excellent analytical, planning and communication skills would be key to a technology start-up environment whereby the CFO is responsible for establishing governance and controls mechanisms internally across teams and communicating with stakeholders, vendors and banking and financing partners. The goal is to help the firm establish an efficient and sustainable finance function that would ensure our firm’s successful growth.

Job Description

  1. Drive the company’s financial planning including building the firm’s financial model, budgeting and forecasting
  2. Build the accounting and reporting functions
  3. Build the firm’s financial model for valuation and cash flow management purposes including parametrising and monitoring all key cost and revenues factors
  4. Advise on capital allocation
  5. Define and lead the organisation’s fundraising plans
  6. Monitor and manage cash flows
  7. Set up and oversee the company’s finance IT system
  8. Perform risk management by analyzing the organization’s liabilities and investments
  9. Manage vendors and partners relationships
  10. Prepare periodic and ad-hoc reports to management, shareholders and other stakeholders
  11. Manage the firm’s audits and reviews
  12. Work in a multi-jurisdictional environment including the EU and UK
  13. Manage corporate governance from the finance perspective
  14. Ensure compliance with the law and company policies

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as CFO, finance officer or relevant role in the EU, UK.
  • Proven track records in fundraising in the EU/UK/ globally.
  • In-depth knowledge of accounting principles and procedures (including IFRS), corporate finance, tax, corporate financial law and risk management practices
  • Excellent knowledge of data analysis and forecasting methods including financial modeling
  • Proficient in the use of MS Office and financial management software (e.g. Xero, Sage etc.)
  • Ability to strategize and solve problems
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills
  • Excellent communication and people skills
  • An analytical mind, comfortable with numbers
  • BSc/BA in Accounting, Finance or relevant field; MSc/MBA is a plus
  • Fluent English
