Job Description
Truven is looking for an entry-level analyst/consultant to work in a dynamic team environment, to work across multiple work streams, and to support a variety of projects within the Truven Health CMS account. This support will include a combination of strategic health consulting; IT systems development support; data analysis; and health policy research. Individuals interested in this position need to have an eagerness to learn new skills, work with a variety of experienced professionals, and display the ability to support a variety of federal health projects with different types of scope. Specifically they will: take part in analytical problem solving by manipulating and interpreting data; actively listen during meetings; capture clear and actionable notes; present information articulately to teammates while conveying personal knowledge and understanding; independently compose clear and concise portions of major written deliverables; work with designated team leaders to build firm competencies and methodologies that can be deployed in client delivery and build competencies in the areas of basic consulting, assignment performance, and organization strategy.
Note: This position may be located in Woodlawn, MD or Bethesda, MD.
Qualifications
Essential Responsibilities
Contribute to major CMS IT development and maintenance project, leading tasks as required
Analyze business processes, policies, and systems
Capture system requirements
Support research efforts which may include interviewing stakeholders, researching options, establishing operational protocols and implementation strategy
Take instructions from client and/or team leader and create clear documents/deliverables based on this guidance
Assist with strategic training and communication efforts related to different CMS systems
Adhere to project schedule and meet milestone deadlines
Provide input into schedule and/or cost management tools
Gather and organize data
Required Skills and Experience
Combination of health, business and/or IT coursework
Experience working with a development team, testing systems, and documenting results
Leadership roles in past activities
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite of tools (Ability to create accurate spreadsheets in Excel and presentations in PowerPoint)
Desired Skills and Experience
Ability to work well with a team in diverse locations, experience in systems requirements development, and system testing and documenting issues
Education / Certifications Required
Bachelors degree in health sciences, business, information technology or other health field.
