We’re looking for an Product Director - Android Applications to join our Product team at Trustonic.  Based in New York, UK or Toronto, you will be part of a team responsible for the technical product management of our Telecoms Platform Services and Android applications.

Job Description

What you'll deliver...

As an Product Director - Android Applications, you will: 

  • set the Telecoms Platform Service & Application direction - using technical and commercial goals, you will define roadmap for Services & Applications, working closely with the CPO, Product Managers, CTO, Architects & other commercial team members.
  • drive alignment and collaboration across the business to optimise product development and delivery across specific OEM smartphones and Android Applications
  • execute the Telecoms Platform Product Strategy - focus on materially improving technical execution of the OEM roadmap, and support scaling and revenue
  • manage the entire service & application lifecycle - from concept, specification, development, acceptance testing, launch, and training - and be prepared to actively participate in rituals inside of the development cycle, including sprint planning, retrospectives, and demos.
  • get cross-functional teams including Engineering, Marketing, Sales, and other PMs aligned and passionate about the roadmap and direction.
  • build a deep understanding of our different types of customers (network operators, reseller, and OEMs) users, their needs and improve our product capabilities
  • be the voice of the customer - both current and future - in all aspects of product development and delivery; regularly attend prospect and customer calls to understand and empathise with their challenges
  • recommend opportunities for our product to better serve the customer needs through customer research and analytics, including collecting feedback from our customers and internal teams via interviews, sales/support calls, and other feedback loops
  • collect and synthesise market requirements via intimate customer/market knowledge and insight and translate to business requirements
  • own your performance indicators: their definition, measurement, and progress. Quantitative and qualitative analysis is comfortable.
  • measure adoption, usage data, and business results from product launches
  • continuously evaluate product-market fit, identify technical dependencies, and perform external benchmarking

  • be able to excel in a fast-paced environment, and ability to work within start-up environment is a must have or demonstrate attitude to work in a fluid & dynamic environment
  • have built android applications
  • have world class product management skills – insights, road mapping, sprint planning, and project management skills
  • be able to strategically assess new opportunities and build alignment around these, and efficiently capture qualitative and quantitative data to make your case
  • have strong ability to communicate with both internal partners and external prospects/customers, and synthesize their feedback
  • know how to work with customers' commercial and technically to help them be successful with our platform
  • be deeply curious and want to understand the why, and excited to dig into the details to find the answer
  • be comfortable independently developing and implementing recommended approaches to complex or ambiguous problems while making thoughtful trade-offs

What makes you, you…


  • significant experience in software development, as well as core product management experience
  • deep knowledge of Android and Application development environment
  • experience with UX/UI design and understanding of best practices
  • documenting user stories and requirements for features and functionality
  • proven experience in analysing market, technical requirements, entertain high-level architecture discussion with customers and partners, define products and solutions, drive them to market, and position them to win
  • demonstrable customer facing experience, using insights to build product plans
  • experience in telecoms, smartphone, cloud landscapes and security software
  • experience working as product owner in agile software development process such as scrum.
  • experience with software security technologies
  • experience collaborating on projects with multiple participants working remotely.


  • knowledge of software development lifecycle
  • knowledge of Android, iOS, mobile OEMs, silicon, and cloud platforms
  • strong understanding of the hardware & software security, telecoms eco-system is a must have
  • strong knowledge of EMM solutions and SaaS


  • fluent English, both written and spoken


  • undergraduate degree or equivalent level of skill, experience and knowledge


  • use of A’ha or similar product management tools
  • use of JIRA and other engineering tools
  • excellent communication skills are important, since candidate must work across various functional areas (engineering, sales, marketing, financial, legal and exec) and with external partners and customers; oral & written
  • ability to independently create proposals and presentations, manage financial numbers
