Job Description
True Tandem is seeking a Senior User Experience/User Interface (UI/UX) Designer with an active Secret US Government security clearance. The candidate must also have 4-8 years of proven experience developing and designing complex, secure, web portal presences within Azure Government/DOD. Candidate must have proven track record of UX, UI and graphic design for the web; demonstrated knowledge of interaction design, user experience principles and processes; and the ability to use both sides of your brain to deliver amazing digital experiences for high profile US federal agency customers.
NOTE: This is a 1099 consulting position (for 3-9 months)
Qualifications
Required Skills:
- Active Secret US Government Security clearance
- Bachelors’ Degree in Computer Science degree or 4 additional years of experience in lieu of degree
- A compelling portfolio demonstrating proven UX, UI and web design experience
- 4–8 years’ experience doing UX work in a professional capacity
- Core UX skills: research, information architecture, wireframing, prototyping, UI, web design
- Experience designing and implementing innovative Web User Interfaces using Bootstrap, Material, or related web frameworks
- Technical knowledge and deep understanding of mobile-first and responsive design
- Solid understanding of current web technologies (html, dhtml, css, Javascript, and React)
- An understanding of human centered design and design thinking
- Proficient in Adobe Creative Cloud, Sketch, and other digital design tools
- Experience using tools such as Photoshop, Sketch, Illustrator, InVision, UXPin, Quartz.
- Comfort with modern software configuration, continuous build, containerization and container management tools (Azure DevOps, git, Gradle, Docker, Kubernetes, etc.)
- Experience working in an Agile/Scrum development process
- Be a deadline-driven and detail-oriented self-starter
- Strong inter-personal, communications and presentation skills
Preferred skills:
- Front-end web development capabilities, a plus
Additional Information
The client site is Metro Washington DC area, so candidates must reside in the area, but some teleworking may be allowed as well.
