Job Description

Major Goals & Purpose

The Project Supervisor is a hands-on role, responsible for the effective execution and production of all field operations on the project; and in conjunction with the Project Manager assumes overall responsibility and accountability for all factors contributing to the success of the project.

 

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain positive relationships with all parties involved in the project
  • Collaborate effectively with the TrueNorth team to meet all organizational objectives
  • Promote safety above all other objectives on the job site for all participants in the project when on the job site in coordination with other TrueNorth team members
  • Promote positive subcontractor relations by dealing professionally and fairly with all subcontractors and vendors instilling this philosophy in project team at all times
  • Participate as needed in procurement and buyout of subcontractors including defining scope and reviewing subcontracts
  • Manage utilization of subcontractors, labor, materials, equipment and other resources for the project
  • Lead all field teams to ensure schedule and budget goals are met or exceeded
  • Provide solutions to solve problems or increase value to the project to meet or exceed expectations for the project
  • Effectively manage and communicate project details including daily job reports, completion paperwork, permits, and other necessary documentation
  • Review drawings and all other pertinent project documents for accuracy, constructability, error or omissions and resolve as necessary
  • Lead weekly meetings at the job site including safety meetings with all working on the job site and various subcontractor, client and company progress meetings as necessary
  • Uphold and exemplify a high standard of ethics, integrity and core values of the company
  • Actively participate in development of self, others, and company specified training or initiatives

Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • 5 years of experience in commercial construction with a minimum of 2 years in a supervisory role in interior finish work and tenant improvement construction
  • Skilled in the hand-on installation of drywall and framing, finish carpentry, store fixtures/displays, acoustical ceilings, concrete patching, caulking, doors and hardware, flooring (carpet tile, base, ceramic tile, VCT, and LVT), bathroom accessories, and minor plumbing
  • Highly self-motivated with a strong drive to succeed and satisfy all customers internal and external
  • Proven track record of meeting deadlines and ability to pay close attention to the important details of each project
  • Ability to communicate effectively, professionally and maintain a positive attitude, treating all people with respect
  • Exceptional organizational and planning skills and able to manage multiple priorities and multi-task effectively
  • Extensive knowledge of commercial construction practices including blueprint reading
  • Ability to self-perform all work as noted above in responsibilities
  • Maintain CPR, first aid, and OSHA training as required by TrueNorth
  • Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office, Outlook and Project
  • Able to travel 100% of the time for projects for extended periods of time
