Job Description

True Food Kitchen is seeking a talented and motivated Creative Director to lead the creative function of the brand’s marketing team. A successful candidate possesses excellent leadership qualities, with the ability to maximize the talents of the creative team and inspire and influence the other marketing functions. As the Creative Director, you will work closely with the graphic designer(s) as well as the brand and digital marketing leads to deliver engaging content that inspires and attracts consumers to our brand. We’re looking for someone who has the desire to keep one foot in the trenches, helping to generate the big ideas for the brand.  It’s essential that the Creative Director has stellar communication, presentation, problem-solving and project-management skills, too. The best creative directors have elevated leadership skills that enable them to inspire creativity and work well with various personality types — all while juggling various projects.  This is a full-time position in the True Food Kitchen home office in Phoenix, AZ, reporting to the Chief Marketing Officer.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Use your expertise to lead the entire creative team and creative process from concept to execution
  • Ensure creative team members work together like a well-oiled machine, consistently executing original and inspiring work – monitoring deadlines and budgets
  • Translate marketing objectives into clear creative strategies
  • Work closely with multidisciplinary project teams, including IT, Recruiting and Design & Development to produce new ideas for company branding, promotional campaigns and all marketing communications
  • Evaluate trends, assess new data and keep up-to-date with the latest marketing techniques.
  • Direct brainstorming meetings and creative sessions
  • Shape brand standards and create procedures to ensure all creative assets are brand appropriate
  • Ensure visual communication and brand standards are consistently met; ensuring all creative assets communicate brand identity, tone and voice
  • Meet with cross-functional project leads and explain campaign strategies and solutions
  • Develop exceptional and well-crafted copy that is on brand, tone and voice
  • Remain actively involved in hiring and training creative staff; onboarding and directing of any outside creative agencies
  • Lead and cultivate the career development of creative team members, including designers, art directors, copywriters, photographers and web developers
  • Oversee profitability, deliverables, timelines and budgets

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in art, graphic design, marketing, communications, journalism and other relevant fields.
  • A minimum of 8 years of creative experience and a strong understanding of industry trends and the digital space – including web, social and emerging technologies.
  • A solid understanding of design, copy and web design practices.
  • Experience performing or managing a range of creative positions, such as graphic designer, art director, copywriter or creative agencies.
  • Expert knowledge of the business side of design
  • Stellar communication, presentation, problem-solving and project-management skills.
  • Elevated soft skills that enable you to inspire creativity and work well with different personality types
