Job Description

As a Financial Analyst for True Food Kitchen, you will provide strategic support for senior management with insightful financial planning, analytics and strategic planning across the Company.  Additionally, you will play an integral role in creating, preparing and reviewing a variety of financial, operational and management reporting & analysis as well as ad hoc analysis using complex data and financial modeling.

This Financial Analyst will help identify opportunities that have the most business impact and be a key contributor in driving the business.  This position requires a skilled analyst who fosters a sense of endless curiosity and camaraderie among the team and influences the organization through proactive, actionable analytics, insights and reporting.

This individual will need to have a unique combination of strong analytical skills, a hospitality and operation mindset, and comfortable in a highly visible role.

Core Responsibilities:

Data, Insights & Analytics

  • Support store and concept-level budgeting and forecasting processes. Identify variances and provide insights on key drivers of actual results versus budgets and forecasts.
  • Ad-hoc analyses identifying risk and opportunities within operations, marketing, and numerous cross-functional teams
  • Develop and present reporting and analyses that identify, evaluate and communicate business and financial results, trends and outlooks for use by store-level operations, multi-unit leadership, executive management and Board of Directors.
  • Evaluate new menu launch product mix shifts and promotional activity to determine overall impact to revenue and margins to assist with menu optimization.
  • Collaborate with marketing team to evaluate pricing strategy and assist with pricing recommendations based on product mix, elasticity, competitor pricing, and product costs.
  • Prepare ad-hoc financial and business analyses and reporting on 4 wall revenue and cost opportunities. Utilize data mining techniques to perform various business modeling and analysis.
  • Evaluate current processes, identify best practices and develop plans to implement improvements to tools, processes and systems.
  • Drive insights through cross-functional partnerships across the organization.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or related finance field. MBA or CPA preferred.
  • 2 - 3 years of progressive experience and demonstrated growth in Finance/FP&A positions.  Restaurant, retail or hospitality industry experience a plus.
  • Strong computer knowledge including financial systems and database applications such as Excel, Access, SQL (a plus), PowerPoint, Mirus (or similar such as MicroStrategy or Tableau), Adaptive Insights and other financial systems. Experience implementing planning and/or budgeting modules a plus
  • Motivated self-starter with strong attention to detail and analytical skills
  • Excellent time management, prioritization and organizational skills; capable of managing multiple assignments and deadlines
  • Solid verbal and written communication skills, presentation and informal communication skills.
  • Highly detail-oriented with excellent time management, prioritization and organizational skills.
  • Ability to adapt to a changing environment
  • Basic understanding of GAAP accounting principles a plus
