Job Description

We have an exciting new job opportunity for a self-motivated, proactive, detail oriented Senior Accountant to join our Accounting team, located at our home office in Phoenix, AZ.   

 

Principal Accountabilities:

  • Perform a wide variety of general accounting functions including journal entries and month-end accrual analysis
  • Perform monthly P&L account trend and variance analysis and balance sheet reconciliations
  • Own the lease accounting process, including preparing and maintaining the lease abstract and providing calculations for base, percent, and deferred rent
  • Become the subject matter expert on the new lease accounting standard and assist in identifying and implementing a lease accounting system
  • Assist with prepaid expense and inventory accounting, G&A expense review, and utility expense analysis and accruals
  • Anticipate and respond to questions from restaurant management on a timely basis
  • Identify, research and resolve accounting discrepancies and issues
  • Assist with management reporting
  • Support the Finance team during the annual budget process
  • Provide supporting documentation for annual audits
  • Assist with other projects as needed

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field is required.
  • 2-4 years in an Accounting role is required
  • Lease Accounting experience is required
  • Intermediate Excel experience
  • Demonstrated ability to support a culture of continuous improvement
  • Ability to thrive in a fast paced, growing, dynamic environment
  • Solid understanding of deliverables, and the ability to take responsibility for them
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, and work well under pressure
  • Excellent organizational, written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to provide excellent customer service and build internal relationships
  • Strong sense of integrity and the ability to protect confidential information
  • Microsoft Dynamics GP (Great Plains) experience is preferred
  • Adaptive Insights experience is preferred
  • Data Mining/Business intelligence experience is preferred
  • Concur Invoice and Expense Processing experience is a plus
  • Hospitality experience is a plus
