Job Description

Position Summary:

The Senior Accountant is responsible for recording revenue and expense within the proper period according to GAAP.  This position supports the financial reporting function for management, auditors, banks and external users and will also work with outside vendors to complete implementation of the fixed asset system and to ensure the system is accurate once completed. 

 

Principal Accountabilities:

  • Perform a wide variety of general accounting functions including journal entries, month-end closing procedures and balance sheet reconciliations
  • Work with third party consultants to complete the implementation of the fixed asset system.
  • Fixed asset accounting, including review and tracking of construction in progress, additions and disposals, maintaining the data in the fixed asset system, recording depreciation and completing rollforward schedules for financial reporting and audit.   
  • Gift card accounting, including recording activations, redemptions and breakage.
  • May assist with prepaid expense accounting, G&A expense review and repair & maintenance analysis
  • Address questions from restaurant management on a timely basis
  • Identify, research and resolve accounting discrepancies and issues
  • Variance analysis
  • Provide supporting documentation for annual audits
  • Assist with other projects as needed

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field is preferred
  • 2-4 years’ prior experience in an Accounting role, supervisory experience preferred
  • Intermediate proficiency computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite: Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook
  • Excellent organizational, written and verbal communication skills
  • Microsoft Dynamics GP (Great Plains), Concur Invoice Processing & Hospitality experience is preferred
