Tripping.com is looking for Search Engineer to take our search system to the next level. You will lead the charge into improving our search performance and abilities. The vacation rental space is a non-standard search space with varying levels of filtering and a fluid inventory that requires a keen eye for optimizing and finding that needle in a haystack.

Responsibilities

• Design and build out algorithms and solutions to improve our targeting and relevancy
• Improve scalability and performance so we can continue to scale out
• Gather and process data to innovate our search further
• Measure, optimize and support system performance
• Work with key stakeholders to support business and team goals

• Masters Degree in Computer Science or closely related experience
• 3 years experience working with a search technology such as Elastic or Lucene
• Experience working in relevancy and performance optimizations for such systems
• Experience in at least one functional language (Erlang, Haskell, Rust)
• Experience in maintaining and developing a machine learning system.
• A self-starter mentality, who can work independently and collaboratively. We’re a small team, and communication is key in allowing us to move quickly.
