Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Emergency Room (ER) Registered Nurse to join our dynamic team of healthcare professionals. As an ER RN, you will play a critical role in providing specialized care to patients in the fast-paced and often high-stress environment of the Emergency Department. Your expertise and quick decision-making abilities will be instrumental in assessing, stabilizing, and managing patients with various medical emergencies. As an advocate for patient well-being, you will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to deliver timely and effective care while ensuring the highest standards of patient safety and comfort.

Responsibilities:

  1. Rapid Patient Assessment and Triage:

    • Conduct rapid and comprehensive assessments of patients presenting to the Emergency Department.
    • Prioritize and triage patients based on the severity of their conditions to ensure timely and appropriate care.
  2. Emergency Medical Care:

    • Administer life-saving interventions and medications as necessary for critically ill or injured patients.
    • Perform advanced medical procedures, such as wound suturing, IV insertions, and cardiac monitoring.
  3. Care Planning and Implementation:

    • Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans.
    • Initiate and coordinate appropriate diagnostic tests and imaging to aid in patient diagnosis and treatment.
  4. Patient and Family Support:

    • Provide emotional support to patients and their families during distressing situations.
    • Educate patients and families about their conditions, treatment plans, and post-discharge care instructions.
  5. Emergency Response and Disaster Preparedness:

    • Demonstrate proficiency in responding to medical emergencies and actively participate in disaster drills and preparedness protocols.
  6. Documentation and Compliance:

    • Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, documenting assessments, interventions, and responses to treatments.
    • Adhere to hospital policies, procedures, and regulatory guidelines to ensure compliance and maintain patient safety.

 

Working Environment: As an ER Registered Nurse, you will work in a fast-paced hospital environment, primarily within the Emergency Department. The role involves shift work, including nights, weekends, and holidays, to ensure 24/7 patient care coverage. Your dedication and clinical expertise will be essential in providing immediate and life-saving care to patients in critical situations.

Qualifications

 

  • Current and valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state.
  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred; Associate's degree in Nursing (ADN) accepted.
  • Certification in Emergency Nursing (CEN) or Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) is advantageous.
  • Previous experience in an Emergency Room or critical care setting is highly desirable.
  • Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to remain calm and efficient in high-pressure situations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development and staying updated on current healthcare practices.
