Qualifications
Trident Consulting is seeking a "Transportation Policy Manager” for one of our clients in "New York City, NY (Hybrid)” A global leader in business and technology services.
Role: Transportation Policy Manager
Location: New York City, NY – Contract - Hybrid
Duration: 12 Months
Pay: $75/hr - $85/hr on W2 (Inclusive all)
Position Summary
- Represent Client in all interactions with electeds, government officials and staff via face-to-face meeting, events and remote lobbying.
- Attend high profile events with key elected or appointed leaders in person.
- Create and execute the public policy and advocacy strategies to improve the regulatory environment for Citi Bike.
- Track legislation relevant to Client at municipal, county and state levels by engaging elected officials directly at City Halls and State Houses
- Work cross-functionally with Client senior management on developing public policy priorities that advance Client’s operations and business interests
- Work closely with Client’s legal, compliance, marketing, communications, and operations teams on developing market strategy
- Lead or co-lead one to two internal policy workstreams with a national scope.
- Manage a team of top-notch external policy consultants to schedule face-to-face meetings with elected officials, track legislation and carry out lobbying campaigns in service of business priorities
- Develop and advocate for policies that support the growth of biking and walking, transit and new mobility options by nurturing relationships with elected officials and non-profit leaders, attending in-person events to represent the business when local leaders are present and leading advocacy campaigns for Client.
Experience:
- 5+ years of experience in policy, government affairs, campaigns, and/or business development.
- Strong existing transportation, government, and advocacy relationships.
- Proven entrepreneurial and scrappy spirit
- Exceptional strategic and problem-solving skills
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, demanding (and sometimes unstructured) environment. You can prioritize and execute while maintaining long-term strategic focus.
- Self-starter; intrinsically motivated but also a good teammate
- You love the art of a deal and are a “closer”
- Natural connector and relationship builder
- A love of travel (lots of travel, often last-minute)
- Excellent communication skills (written, verbal and presentation) - you know how to tell a good story and advocate your position
- Passion for transportation, public transit, urban planning, politics, and sustainability
