Employment Type: Contract / Contingent Workforce
Schedule: Monday – Friday
Hours: 40 hours/week | 8 hours/day
Pay Rate: $28 - 30/hr on W2(Inclusive all)
Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to support manufacturing operations at our FPS facility in Midland, TX. This role is responsible for maintaining and repairing production equipment used in the manufacturing of non-metallic poly pipe products.
The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment, along with exposure to automation systems such as PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, and control electronics.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and repair equipment used in poly pipe production operations
- Support installation, inspection, upgrades, and maintenance of control systems
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and electronic equipment
- Diagnose machine failures and implement corrective actions
- Perform emergency breakdown maintenance and minimize production downtime
- Prepare reports on machine faults, repairs, and maintenance activities
- Assist in developing preventive and predictive maintenance schedules
- Disassemble, repair, and safely reassemble industrial equipment
- Collaborate with operations and maintenance teams to improve equipment reliability and performance
- Support automation and continuous improvement initiatives within the manufacturing environment
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- Minimum 3 years of experience in:
- Maintenance technician role OR
- Service technician role involving mechanical and electronic repairs
- Strong mechanical troubleshooting and repair skills
- Experience in industrial or manufacturing environments
- Ability to diagnose and resolve equipment failures safely and efficiently
- Good communication and teamwork skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with:
- PLC systems
- HMI interfaces
- VFDs (Variable Frequency Drives)
- CNC controls
- Control electronics
- Experience with automation systems in manufacturing
- Knowledge of predictive maintenance concepts
- Ability to interpret technical information and communicate findings effectively
- Experience using diagnostic and testing equipment
