Job Description
Job Title: Warehouse Operator I (Temporary)
Location: Allentown, PA (Onsite)
Duration: 6 Months (04/20/2026 – 10/19/2026)
Pay Rate: $20/hour
Schedule: Monday–Friday (8:30 AM – 5:00 PM OR 9:00 AM – 5:30 PM)
Interview Process: 15-minute Virtual Interview
Start: Immediate (ASAP)
Position Overview
The Warehouse Operator I supports daily warehouse operations including picking, packing, shipping, receiving, and inventory management. The role requires strict adherence to safety, quality, and hazardous material handling procedures, especially while handling chemical products.
Key Responsibilities
1. Order Picking & Packing
- Accurately pick items from inventory based on customer orders
- Verify catalog number, lot number, quantities, and special instructions
- Pack products according to company and hazardous material guidelines
- Label packages correctly to comply with hazmat regulations
- Stage completed orders for shipment
2. Shipping Operations
- Prepare shipments for dispatch
- Ensure proper documentation and labeling
- Move packed materials to designated shipping areas
3. Receiving & Put-away
- Receive inbound shipments
- Unpack and inspect materials
- Restock inventory in appropriate locations
- Maintain accurate inventory placement
4. Inventory & SAP System Usage
- Use SAP system for:
- Inventory tracking
- Order processing
- Material receiving and storage
- Perform shelf audits to ensure:
- Correct product placement
- Inventory accuracy
5. Warehouse Maintenance
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized workspace
- Dispose of waste and debris properly
- Organize packing materials and supplies
- Perform routine shelf and stock maintenance
6. Equipment Operation
- Operate warehouse tools and equipment such as:
- RF scanners
- Pallet jacks
- Picking carts
- Packing machines (tape dispensers, etc.)
- Use cutting tools safely
Required Skills & Qualifications
Mandatory
- Prior picking & packing experience
- Basic knowledge of warehouse operations
- Familiarity with RF scanners and inventory systems
- Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English
- Basic computer skills (PCs, printers, SAP preferred)
Preferred
- Experience working with chemical or hazardous materials
- Exposure to SAP warehouse/inventory modules
Physical Requirements
- Ability to:
- Stand/walk for 8 hours
- Lift up to 50 lbs unassisted
- Lift heavier loads with assistance
- Perform movements such as:
- Bending, stooping, kneeling, crouching
- Reaching above shoulders
- Good vision (near, distance, color, depth perception)
Work Environment
- Warehouse setting with exposure to chemicals
- Requires use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
- No forklift operation required
