Job Description
Job Title: Manufacturing Operator I
Location: Miamisburg, OH (Onsite)
Duration: 6 Months Contract (Potential Extension)
Shift: Monday – Friday | 1st Shift (8 hours/day)
Pay Rate: $20/hr - 25.00/hr On W2(Inclusive all)
Position Summary
The Manufacturing Operator I is responsible for executing chemical synthesis and purification processes related to stable isotope production in a controlled laboratory environment. This role requires strict adherence to safety, quality, and regulatory standards, including ISO 9001 and cGMP guidelines.
This is a hands-on lab role (NOT warehouse work) involving chemical handling, process execution, equipment operation, and documentation.
Core Responsibilities
Chemical Processing & Production
- Perform routine synthetic and purification operations involving stable isotope compounds
- Execute chemical processes such as:
- Distillation
- Filtration
- Extraction
- Re-crystallization
- Accurately charge solids, liquids, and gases into reactors and laboratory vessels
- Follow Master Production Records (MPRs) and detailed batch instructions
Equipment Operation & Maintenance
- Set up, operate, and clean laboratory equipment and process tools
- Maintain equipment, utilities, and production areas in operational condition
- Assist in troubleshooting process deviations and equipment issues
- Ensure work areas are clean and compliant before and after operations
Quality Assurance & Compliance
- Follow all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and work instructions
- Ensure compliance with:
- ISO 9001 quality standards
- cGMP (Current Good Manufacturing Practices)
- Maintain accurate and complete documentation:
- Logbooks
- Batch production records
- Equipment usage records
- Participate in audits, inspections, and quality training sessions
Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE)
- Adhere strictly to all safety policies and procedures
- Use required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE):
- Lab coat
- Gloves
- Safety glasses
- Safety shoes
- Safely handle hazardous chemicals and materials
- Perform proper waste neutralization and disposal
- Immediately report unsafe conditions or quality risks
Operational Support
- Meet daily/weekly production targets and deadlines
- Contribute to team goals for quality, safety, and productivity
- Support continuous improvement initiatives within the department
Minimum Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Basic understanding of laboratory or manufacturing processes
- Mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot basic issues
- Ability to:
- Follow detailed written instructions
- Work in a structured, compliance-driven environment
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in:
- Chemistry
- Chemical Engineering
- Biology or related Science discipline
- Prior experience in:
- Laboratory environment
- Chemical manufacturing or processing
- Familiarity with:
- cGMP / ISO standards
- Chemical handling and safety protocols
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
- Laboratory / chemical production setting
- Exposure to chemicals and controlled environments
- PPE required at all times during operations
- No heavy lifting (>20 lbs not required)
- No forklift or warehouse duties involved
- No travel required
