The Senior Business Intelligence (BI) Analyst will design, develop, and maintain Power BI reports, dashboards, and the semantic models that support them, ensuring business stakeholders have access to accurate, well-defined, and trusted data.

Reporting to the BI Manager, the Senior BI Analyst will own the design and usability of reports, maintain measures in alignment with certified metric definitions, and support the rollout and training of new and updated reports for users ranging from executives to field sales.

This role is ideal for someone who combines strong technical Power BI expertise with excellent business acumen, communication skills, and a passion for helping teams make data-driven decisions.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Under the direction of the BI Manager, design, develop, and maintain Power BI reports and dashboards that meet the needs of business stakeholders, including field sales, executives, FP&A, Marketing, Product Management, and Medical Education.

  • Develop and maintain DAX measures and semantic models in Power BI and Microsoft Fabric in accordance with BI metric definitions and certification standards.

  • Collaborate with BI team members on the data that supports reporting, including identifying data quality issues, requesting source changes, and testing upstream changes prior to release.

  • Validate reports and measures against source data, and against Finance figures where required, prior to release.

  • Investigate and resolve reported data discrepancies, tracing each issue to its root cause and routing it to the appropriate owner when necessary.

  • Develop a working understanding of the commercial business, including the distinction between revenue and case data, in order to design reports around the decisions they support.

  • Gather requirements from report users, conduct design reviews, and collect feedback following release.

  • Design mobile-friendly report layouts to support field users.

  • Act as a resource in the rollout and training of new and updated reports, including plain-language release notes and current report documentation.

  • Maintain the report inventory and usage tracking, and retire reports that are no longer in use.

  • Manage report access and row-level security, administer Power BI workspaces, apps, and refresh schedules, and adhere to BI change-control processes.

  • Identify and implement opportunities to incorporate AI and automation into BI workflows, including Copilot in Power BI and Fabric, data-driven alerting, and AI-assisted documentation.

  • Support readiness for natural language querying once certified models are in place.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as Business Systems, Information Technology, Statistics, Economics, or a related field; or equivalent experience.

  • 4+ years of experience developing Power BI reports and semantic models in a production environment.

  • Experience in the medical device, healthcare, or another sales-driven industry preferred.

  • Ability to present examples of previously developed reports during the interview process preferred.
