Job Description

As the Patient-Specific-Instrument Manufacture Engineer, you will be responsible for reviewing patient-specific CT scans, performing segmentation, creating drawings, and managing the manufacture of the patient-specific anatomical foot model and cut guide. You will work cross-functionally within the company and communicating with vendors to support high-quality production and inspection of the finished product. 

In this role, you will also support ongoing product development, process improvement, and automation projects to further the development of patient-specific devices, including 2D and 3D drawings, sharing technical and process expertise on project teams, creating technical documentation, etc.

What you will be responsible for:

  • Analyze CT scan data, and create patient-specific anatomical model using image segmentation software and SOLIDWORKS for 2D and 3D modeling
  • Manage the manufacturing of anatomical foot models using 3D printing technology
  • Work closely with manufacturers to ensure high-quality and timely production and delivery of custom guides.  Perform quality checks as needed
  • Create specificities and drawings for cases
  • Support software developers and project engineers as a point-of-contact.  Provide feedback on the development of automation software and process improvements
  • Assists in implementing process improvement strategies, optimizing current processes, and process scalability

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical design required.
  • Two years of relevant mechanical design and manufacturing engineering experience required.
  • Medical device development experience and/or internships strongly preferred
  • Experience with Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Certified SOLIDWORKS Associate in Mechanical Design (CSWA) certification preferred
