Job Description

The TCS People Director will work with both our local and global teams to lead and shape Group Business and People Plans, but will also be responsible for executing all people policies, plans and activities for TCS World Travel This individual will need to be able to demonstrate the “best of both worlds model” – Business and People working together. 

TCS World Travel is a business in transition – it has a track record of successful growth, but now needs to move from having a “small business” mindset to one that is building scalable foundations for growth in the long term. The People agenda is a critical part of TCS and their growth plans.

As part of the TCS leadership team you will be responsible for:

  • Development and roll-out of the TCS four (4) year plan. Participate and contribute to broad leadership team discussions and decisions across a broad spectrum of business issues
  • Partner with the President to develop a strategic people, culture and capability plan for the business. Share and create alignment with CEO, CFO and COO to ensure success
  • Build strong and productive working relationships with all members of the TCS leadership team.
  • As a member of the TCS Executive Team – provoke and partner the team to build the appropriate organization design, operating model and overhead budget to deliver the four (4) year strategy plan 
  • Establish and execute plans to deliver the agreed organization/overhead changes to expected standards and with no employee engagement impact.
    • Stay alert and connected to the evolving and changing needs of the business to ensure that the plan is updated as required.
  • Create and deliver a talent plan to ensure that TCS has the best/most appropriate skill level and expertise across all aspects of its’ business.
  • Create and deliver a sustainable resourcing and engagement plan for TRIP staffing which is cost effective, purposeful as well as reflective of TCS values surrounding customer experience. 
  • Act as the functional lead for significant business change projects throughout all departments
  • Leadership of the evolution of the TCS culture
    • Protect the strong customer service, operational excellence heritage. Create and execute solutions that convert this very special ingredient of TCS culture into a defined and teachable mindset and skill-set as the business grows and develops
    • Build in a stronger commercial culture and skill-set across the business at all levels
  • Build leadership and managerial capabilities through personal coaching, challenging and influencing across senior leadership
  • Lead partnerships of the functional COEs across the Group to ensure work being done at the global level which will impact TCS is fully supported and that TCS requirements are reflected in the end solutions
  • In partnership with President and CPO; create a deliver a benefits and perks plan for TCS through leading plan development and employee roll-out. Additionally, you will be a functional and technical point of reference across the Group for employment expertise in the USA
  • Lead the TCS People Team – create a plan for continuous improvement to ensure the team continues to evolve and develop
  • As a member of the Global People Team leadership team you will shape and develop the broader Group people agenda that will be delivered across the portfolio of brands

Qualifications

Knowledge and Experience:

  • Track record of world class HR practice that can be translated into a pragmatic, fast paced private equity environment
  • Global mindset with the proven ability of both leading a team and collaborating with experienced leadership teams
  • Experience creating and delivering people oriented solutions
  • Benefits and perks experience is a plus

Credentials:

  • Eight (8) plus years’ experience leading a team in a corporate HR organization plus a master’s degree in Business, HR, or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • SPHR or SHRM-SCP certification desired
