Job Description

TCS World Travel is looking for a full-time Sales Consultant to join our growing Luxury Custom Travel team in Seattle. The Sales Consultant provides our guests with the highest level of customer service while developing and selling world-class, personalized travel experiences.

Our ideal candidate has a strong sales background including experience working toward goals and shares our passion for travel. They are self-motivated, results driven and possess a positive attitude. Our ideal candidate is extremely detail-oriented and capable of managing prospective clients through the entire sales cycle from inbound lead to booking the order. Polished and professional communication skills are a must to develop strong relationships with qualified guests via phone or email communication. It is critical in this role to meet or exceed all assigned revenue goals. 

Essential Functions:

  • Sales
    • Piece together and sell tailor-made travel programs by creating and writing luxury, high end trip proposals.
    • Work closely with sales colleagues in refining sales skills and strategies to drive results.
    • Assist with purchasing and communicating travel insurance.
  • Account Management
    • Develop relationships and effectively qualify new guests.
    • Maintain relationships and service standards with individual guests who have booked custom travel services.
    • Monitor guest issues, feedback, deadlines, and deliverables and ensure guests issues are handled effectively and quickly, escalating when needed.
    • Follow through with time sensitive materials, acknowledge all payments and/or outstanding or late payments and answer all other inquiries from guests. 
    • Maintain daily records and bookings in our CRM. 
  • Operations
    • Maintain complete knowledge of all travel products including destinations, modes of transportation, travel insurance, financial details, and extra services.
    • Create berthing lists for jets, ships and trains; prepare tickets, vouchers, labels, and other items as needed.
    • Coordinate, proof read and prepare pre-departure written materials.
    • Negotiate hotel and land services as needed with overseas destination management companies.
    • Attend ongoing training sessions and continually develop destination knowledge.
  • Other
    • General accounting tasks including invoice review, payments and trip profit/loss reporting. 
    • Financial analysis of future and past trips.
    • Close/reconcile trip financials with accounting department each month. 
    • Other tasks as assigned.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years travel industry or event planning experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to use relationship-based skills to close sales with high net worth individuals.
  • In-depth understanding of the sales process and ability to deliver results.
  • Superior planning, organizational, and prioritization skills.
  • Well-traveled, either professionally or personally. 
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills to give our travelers the high level of service that they are expecting from TCS World Travel and Travcoa. 
  • Positive attitude and works well in a team environment.
  • Strong attention to detail with an ability to manage multiple tasks and trips in various states of operation.
  • Handles stressful situations and deadlines pressures calmly and professionally.
  • Demonstrated success in a fast-paced, time-sensitive environment.
  • Negotiation skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • General accounting skills.
  • Salesforce or other CRM system and Softrip experience is a plus.
