Job Description

TCS World Travel is looking for a Manager of Data Solutions to develop a long-term data analytic strategy including reporting platform, self-service tools, and analytical models critical for providing insights to the business.  This new hands-on position will be work with a variety of functional business leaders to understand their requirements and ensure appropriate systems and reporting can meet expectations. 

The Manager of Data Solutions must be skilled at translating analysis findings to a non-analytical audience.  You must be strong with SQL, Google Analytics, Tableau, and Excel.  This role will report into TCS World Travel’s VP of Technology and partner with our Parent company Travelopia to contribute in technical recommendations on BI Platforms. The Manager of Data Solutions will have one direct report.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop a long-term business intelligence strategy, a data roadmap, BI best practices, and self-service reporting capabilities
  • Manage the strategy for acquiring and overlaying data sources for Marketing and Sales purposes
  • Create and deliver metrics and analytical models critical for tracking and managing the business
  • Leverage industry best practices in establishing repeatable BI practices, principles & processes
  • Construct executive level presentations and present complex analytical findings in clear, concise, and decision-impacting manner
  • Work cross functionally to drive comprehensive data quality, conduct quality assurance and audits on all data
  • Identify reporting and data processes that are inefficient and drive change that will lead to measurable gains in data quality, processing time and self service
  • Troubleshoot and conduct root cause analysis for data issues

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in math, computer science, engineering, finance, statistics, or a related technical field or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 5+ years of professional experience and passion for working with large data sets plus deep experience in statistical analysis, advanced modeling techniques, data mining and business analysis
  • Website analytics experience using either Google Analytics or Adobe Marketing Cloud
  • Agile project management experience and ability to drive successful end-to-end project execution
  • Ability to thrive in an environment that is tasked with providing data-driven decision support and business intelligence that is timely, accurate and actionable
  • Strong understanding and experience with object-oriented programming (OOP), Java or Scala
  • Knowledge of big data and data pipeline principles and high-performance distributed systems; experience with Kafka, Storm, and Hadoop
  • Experience with processing structured, semi-structured, unstructured data formats
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
  • Self-motivated, highly collaborative, creative, goal-oriented and team-centric
  • Attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, superior time management skills
  • Ability to work independently and problem solve in a rapidly changing and sometimes ambiguous environment
  • Proven experience analyzing digital data to provide strategic recommendations on digital marketing initiatives (campaign analysis, customer journey’s, attribution, media mix, segmentation, reporting, A/B Testing, tagging, etc.)
  • Hands on experience with SQL, Excel, data mining, data visualization software such as Tableau, Power BI, etc.
