Job Description

TCS World Travel is hiring a Custom Travel Manager to drive the team performance. This is a new position, which has been added to Luxury Custom Travel team during a period of high growth. This position will report to the Managing Director of Luxury Custom Travel.

The Custom Travel Manager will lead a growing team of 5-8 Travel Consultants to achieve the overall sales and profitability targets and ensure Luxury Custom Travel achieves the highest levels of guest satisfaction. We’re looking for an experienced sales manager who has a track record in improving workflows and developing employees to create a high functioning sales team. Previous travel industry experience or a demonstrated passion for travel is essential. This role will manage some clients and custom trips as well and will collaborate with TCS' Product Development and Marketing teams on innovation and supplier management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage travel consultants including hiring, training, developing individual performance, and fostering a collaborative team environment.
  • Develop and track sales performance metrics to ensure we are providing high quality service to our clients.
  • Oversee team standards and the adoption of new processes or systems.
  • Ensure team is completing all client / trip milestones and processes in meeting our service expectations.
  • Manage overall guest satisfaction through surveys, team performance metrics and feedback from cross functional teams.
  • Manage team financials to achieve business targets and overall financial management including invoice review, payments, pricing, trip profit/loss reporting and working with accounting to close/reconcile trips.
  • Develop, own and manage the team’s incentive program.
  • Create fully customized travel programs for a small portfolio of clients and oversea the booking from new lead all the way through itinerary building and quoting to trip completion.
  • Build, maintain and oversee relationships with local agents, hotel partners, air partners, and insurance vendors.
  • Travel as required (10-20%) to increase knowledge of destinations, maintain relationships with vendors and connect with product.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 5+ years sales experience selling luxury goods or services.
  • 3+ years managment experience. Demonstrated ability to manage a team under pressure and monitor product execution, team activities and processes.
  • Travel industry experience preferred. Demonstrated personal passion and experience in travel.  
  • Highly developed interpersonal skills, capable of negotiating with several stakeholders.
  • Project management skills to lead and execute projects.
  • Knowledge of global destinations and demonstrated ability to leverage that experience for product oversight.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills required, and previous experience working with high-end clientele is a must. 
  • Positive attitude, works well in a team environment and thinks creatively to resolve issues.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
  • Experience with Salesforce a plus.
