Job Description

TCS World Travel is seeking a Graphic Designer, who will design and create marketing materials for our partner, National Geographic Expeditions (NGE). The Graphic Designer is responsible for creating and producing marketing, sales and guest services communication materials across the entire customer journey, from pre-trip, during trip and post-trip experiences. This includes print collateral, direct mail brochures, advertising, digital content, sales materials, and guest content. 

Essential Functions

  • Lead graphic design and production of marketing materials for our partner, National Geographic Expeditions (NGE), which includes responsibilities such as making text edits to brochures, preparing files for pre-press, heavy image searching for marketing assets, and performing overall quality control
  • Assist with design assets for the website, NGE Catalog, and other PR requests as well as NGE Trip amenities
  • Manage quick turnarounds and overlapping projects by prioritizing needs of the client
  • Be informed by client briefs and grow a solid understanding of client deliverables; take responsibility of the project from concept to completion on time and within the given budget
  • Conduct heavy image research and manage contracts and budgets with stock agencies
  • Work with strict visual design style guidelines to ensure continuity of design across all customer touch points as well as build attractive and effective designs for print and digital media
  • Communicate with the NGE marketing manager and Art Director to discuss design decisions as well as receive feedback
  • Understand and champion branding, layout, color theory and typography in both print and digital media
  • Build inspired content that meets the needs of our partners and achieves the goals of our business
  • Use team collaboration tools, like the traffic manager, to communicate project status to the team and ensure the timely development of materials
  • Insert changes and revise copy in documents to produce error-free proofs
  • Create electronic copy archive for all projects
  • Support the team with additional marketing design and production work outside of NGE work

Qualifications

  • BA degree in Graphic Design or equivalent work experience
  • 3+ years of work experience as a graphic designer
  • Proficient knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite
  • Exceptional typography and design skills as well as a familiarity with digital design and print design
  • Expert organizational skills with an ability to effectively manage multiple projects of varying complexities, meet deadlines and remain calm under pressure
  •  “Startup” mentality and the ability to work through ambiguity
  • Strong communication skills with an ability to work well with others as part of a team, as well as work independently
  • Willingness to be hands-on and do all levels of work as needed
  • Collaborative, solutions oriented and can do approach for both internal and external customers
