Our center:
Southview Manor is a SNF that has 200 beds, multiple levels of care and a 5 Star Quality Measure rating.
Location: We are located in the Bronzeville neighborhood, just south of downtown Chicago, near the White Sox Stadium at E 33rd Blvd & S Michigan Ave. This is a neighborhood that is becoming re-gentrified and easy to commute to from Chicago or the suburbs. The Metra and the Green Line are just a few blocks away.
Job Description
Infection Preventionist (ICP - Registered Nurse)
What you'll do:
- Plan, develop, organize, implement, evaluate, coordinate, and direct the infection control program in accordance with current rules, regulations, and guidelines that govern such requirements in the long-term care facility.
- Monitor the facility to evaluate compliance with current CDC, OSHA, and local regulations concerning infection control and provide education and training as needed
- Perform Infection Surveillance; tracking and trending infections and developing action plans to decrease infections
- Prepare Infection Control reports at facility and staff level and present at the QAPI meetings
- Lead the weekly Infection Control QAPI
- Lead the facility pandemic team by preforming testing, surveillance, education and reporting to all required entities.
- Become the expert with the POC test.
- Lead the Antibiotic Stewardship team; reviewing new antibiotics; tracking physician prescribing practices and educating and training on appropriate antibiotic use.
- Make frequent rounds of the facility to look for infection control opportunities.
- Develop and participate in the planning, conducting, and scheduling of in-service training classes and educational programs for all facility personnel.
- Coordinate the facility vaccination program.

Qualifications
Infection Preventionist (ICP - Registered Nurse)
What we need from you:
- Registered Nurse (RN) in IL
- Must have certification in infection control (ICP) or complete the certification within 60 days of hire
- Experienced in Long Term Care or Post-Acute Care preferred
- Must have experience with an electronic documentation system, preferably PCC
