Company Description

This is a brand new inpatient medical facility.  We are wrapping up the final construction projects and looking for a hands-on building / facilities maintenance and and repair leader. (This is not an office/administrative position.)

Start Date:  ASAP
Status:  full time; salaried position
Salary:  based on experience in a medical setting

Position overview
The "Environmental Services Director" is the person that helps make sure our patients are in a safe and comfortable environment during their medical stay at our center.  You will maintain all aspects of the property including building, grounds and equipment needs.  This may entail fixing/maintaining kitchen & office equipment, addressing general plumbing and minor electrical repairs or assessing the needs of the ventilation system.  This is an in-house building or facilities maintenance position and we attempt to address all necessary repairs internally rather than calling an external vendor.

Experience in this line of work is only the beginning. The right candidate will also be passionate about ensuring the highest level of care for our patients every day.

  • You should be comfortable working near/around critically ill medical patients.

Job Description

NOTE:  this is a hands on building /a facility maintenance position, not administrative.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES

  • Ensuring that all facility maintenance / environmental services activities in a facility are appropriately carried out
  • Keeping a record of all maintenance and service activities conducted
  • Complying with all safety norms and regulations set by IDPH and the industry
  • You should have experience with minor Electrical, Plumbing and HVAC repair and servicing needs.

  • You should be familiar with (and able to repair) equipment, such as:  PTAC units, Fire Alarms (systems), Nurse call light systems (specifically "Vigil") and Phones systems

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum three (3) years’ experience in a similarly titled position in a medical setting, preferably a skilled nursing facility
  • experienced with IDPH survey requirements
  • You should have experience with minor Electrical, Plumbing and HVAC repair and servicing needs.

  • You should be familiar with (and able to repair) equipment, such as:  PTAC units, Fire Alarms (systems), Nurse call light systems and Phones systems

  • Strong computer skills is must; we are a paperless environment
  • Must have excellent communication skills, written & verbal, to be able to interact with our employees and guests in the facility

 
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
This is a physically demanding position that will involve frequently lifting and carrying objects of 50+ pounds.

Facility information:
This is a recently built high end healthcare facility. Everything is new, spotless and it feels more like a hotel than a medical building. We will have patients (we call them “guests”) of all ages recovering from surgeries or devastating illnesses.  They are with us for about 14 days or less and we want you to help us make it the best experience for them as possible.
